But it actually is not the case. No deities are presented in sexual acts in any of the temples of Khajuraho. There are many interpretations of erotic sculptures. According to popular belief the sculptures on the external wall of the temples means that we must leave the sexual desires to enter behind the brick of God. Some sculptures speak of Tantric sexual acts that were practiced at that time. Some even say that in those days, young men used to practice Bramhacharya and before entering the family life they used to take lessons from these encrypted sculpture in the walls of temples of Khajuraho. Anther popular theory is that people at that time believed that the god of thunder will not destroy the place guarded by persons involved in sexual acts and sculptures were made outside the temple to guard against any type of destruction.. These unusual sculptures in Khajuraho temples were discovered in the late 19th century of the jungle and were restored as a wonderful tourist destination in India.
